Greg Beck

 

 

Greg Beck  is Vice President – U.S. Layer 2/3 Network Engineering at AT&T. His organization is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation and economic growth of AT&T’s IP/MPLS common backbone network within the U.S.. Included in his responsibilities are the DSL, ATM aggregation and Frame Relay networks. Additionally, his team manages the build Light Speed infrastructure supporting AT&T’s U-verse brand IPTV service.  His team provides capacity management and deployment and other lifecycle support for these networks
 
The Network Engineering organization provides capacity coordination, technical consulting services, engineering, installation and acceptance of network equipment dedicated to the delivery of telecommunication and entertainment services.
 
Greg joined Southwestern Bell in 1986 as a Switching Engineer in downtown Dallas, Texas. He has held various positions within the Company which include: Network Operations, General Headquarters Staff, Network Operations Staff, DataComm and a position with an Advanced Service Inc. Prior to his current position, he held the position of Vice President- Network Engineering responsible for the Southwest and Connecticut.   
 
Greg serves on the Metroplex Technology Business Council board of directors and is a past member of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology Program for Texas A&M.
 
Greg graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1985.
