. Lisa Danzer is a Technology Manager for Sun Microsystems and has been involved in high-tech for the past 17 years.
She started at Sun as a Systems Engineer responsible for partner accounts. She transitioned into management and is currently responsible for a team of systems engineers and technical sales people. She was recognized as the District Technology Manager of the year for the Southern Area in 2001 and US Engineering Manager/Director of the Year in 2002. She is a five time Sunrise (sales club) award winner. In 2002 Lisa led a team of sales and systems engineer that won the "Get's It" award from thier customer. The award was given for exemplifying the best partnership effort of any of their vendors.
While at Sun, Lisa has also assumed a role as Technical Ambassador to the community. She has worked to "bridge the Digital Divide" by leading Sun-sponsored Netday projects at the elementary school level and working on projects to bring Internet access to inner city children. She and her network of Dallas Sun employees were featured on the Channel 4 “Hometown Heroes” segment of the news in May of 2001 for their efforts at the West Dallas Community Centers.
Lisa currently serves on the Metroplex Technology Business Council
(MTBC) which is a an association of technology companies dedicated to developing high tech in the Dallas Metroplex. Lisa also served on the Executive Committee for Techknow 2001, a technology workshop hosted by Women in Technology International.
Prior to Sun, Lisa was a Systems Engineer for Siemens Pyramid
providing technical support for high-end UNIX systems. She began her career in the high-tech industry in the 1980's working for Motorola. There she started as an Administrator and was promoted to a Systems Engineer while completing a masters degree.
Lisa has a BS in Business Administration and a Masters in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Lisa was profiled in the February 2000 issue of Women's Enterprise
Magazine as a woman in engineering who also balances family life. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She is a den leader for her son's Cub Scout pack, enjoys reading and working in her garden.
