Stephen B. Watson

 

 

Steve Watson offers a unique value in understanding executive requirements having spent more than 24 years in senior management roles with global technology companies. Being in executive search since 1995, Mr. Watson focuses on serving domestic and international clients in the computer, telecommunications, software, and manufacturing industries, as well as Chief Information Officers and Chief Technology Officers across industries. Mr. Watson is Managing Director of the Dallas office, and serves as the International Chairman for Stanton Chase International.

Mr. Watson’s first six years in executive search were as a Partner with Ray & Berndtson and Heidrick & Struggles International. He has been with Stanton Chase since 2001.

Prior to his search career, Mr. Watson served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Micronyx, a leading supplier of security products for personal computers. He was also at Tandem Computers where he served as Regional Director for the south central region, and was with Burroughs Corporation from 1971 to 1984, where he held management positions of increasing responsibility including senior positions in its world headquarters.

Mr. Watson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and his MBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Currently, Mr. Watson serves on the Board of Directors for Terra Nova Financial Group and as Chairman of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Watson also serves on the Board of Directors of the Metroplex Technology Business Council, and on the Board of Directors of CEO Netweavers. He is a member of the Americas Council for the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC). Additionally, he serves on the Executive Committee and Board of the Dallas Summer Musicals, and is active on the Associate Board of the Cox School of Business at SMU. He is a member of the Editorial Board for Organizational Dynamics. He has served on numerous civic and community organizations in the past, including Chairman for the Salute to High Technology Gala.
