The Innovation Team works to improve and encourage high-tech entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization within the DFW Metroplex.
Innovation Team Vision
Create an exciting and collaborative environment that reinforces and enhances the position of North Texas as the place for innovative and entrepreneurial companies to grow and prosper.
Strategy
Develop close working relationships with cornerstone companies and universities to bring together talented individuals to business drive development programs that create synergies and success for North Texas companies.
Execution
Build a small number of highly focused teams of purposeful and innovative individuals to conceptualize, develop, and drive programs.
Some of the past accomplishments of the Innovation Team were:
- Creating and administering TechQuest, a program to match major North Texas companies with innovative technologies
- Benchmarking the region’s high-tech start-up assets
- Promoting the “World’s Best Technology” and “SBIR/STTR” conferences
Goals for 2009 include:
- Hosting a quarterly TechQuest event
- Introduce “Next Big Thing” discussion series
- Hosting a venture showcase forum
