About the Topic:
What the Heck is Sales 2.0?
You may have heard of Web 1.0 being the early days of websites that were very static and brochure like compared to Web 2.0 that is more interactive and relies on user generated content.
Sales 1.0 is the “Push” style of selling vs. Sales 2.0 which is more of a “Pull” style of selling. With Sales 1.0 we rely on cold calling, mass mailings and pushing our message out to everyone. The sales process is more of a manipulation than a partnership.
With Sales 2.0 we provide information on our website, blogs, video, LinkedIn, Facebook and other sites that are helpful, inviting and informative. We understand that potential customers or clients want to know about us and our industry before engaging with us on the phone or in person. By providing these resources we “pull” or attract people who would like to do business with us.
As companies begin to employ more of the Web 2.0 concepts they also need to consider adjusting their Sales Process, Sales Metrics and Sales Compensation to make the most of the Sales 2.0 methodologies.
