
MTBC To Showcase Metroplex RFID Industry At World Conference
More than 3,000 RFID industry engineers, software developers and executives are expected to arrive in the DFW Metroplex the first week of March for the 3rd Annual RFID World Conference and Exhibition. The site of the convention is the Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine on March 1-3 and the MTBC will be on hand to welcome the delegates.
MTBC is an official sponsor of the conference and exhibition which is making its first appearance in the Metroplex. MTBC is the exclusive sponsor of the opening night reception on March 2 in the exhibit hall. MTBC members attending the conference and exhibiting in the show will be recognized through signage and special promotional items.

Events Planned For Tech Week In Austin
Feb. 28 through March 4 has been designated Texas Technology Week. The MTBC, in conjunction with the American Electronics Association (AeA), TechNet and the Texas Healthcare & Bioscience Institute (THBI), is organizing a series of events in Austin to promote the importance of technology within the state and to keep Texas a leader in the field.
Monday's events will center around a technology summit entitled "Innovation, Investment and Productivity: Ensuring Texas' Place In A Competitive 21st Century." The summit will bring together industry and law-making leaders for three panel discussions. A legislative reception featuring tech innovation exhibits and a news conference are also planned for the day.

Nanotech Initiative To Provide On-The-Job Training
Texas State Technical College in Waco has received a $500,000 grant to launch the Nanotechnology Workforce Development Initiative.
The technical college will team up with Baylor University in Waco, Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and Richardson-based Zyvex Corp. on the initiative, which is aimed at encouraging college students to pursue careers in nanotechnology.
"Texas is a technology powerhouse, not by accident but because of active planning and strong public-private partnerships like this one," Gov. Rick Perry said in announcing the grant.
