MTBC To Showcase Metroplex RFID Industry At World Conference

More than 3,000 RFID industry engineers, software developers and executives are expected to arrive in the DFW Metroplex the first week of March for the 3rd Annual RFID World Conference and Exhibition. The site of the convention is the Gaylord Texas Resort in Grapevine on March 1-3 and the MTBC will be on hand to welcome the delegates.

MTBC is an official sponsor of the conference and exhibition which is making its first appearance in the Metroplex. MTBC is the exclusive sponsor of the opening night reception on March 2 in the exhibit hall. MTBC members attending the conference and exhibiting in the show will be recognized through signage and special promotional items.

MTBC is also as a sponsor of a pre-conference workshop on March 1 that will focus on “RFID Investment Strategies and Opportunities.” RFID and EPC have combined to create one of the hottest investment areas in technology this year, according to the RFID World Conference Web site. This day-long program provides insight and information focused on RFID designed for investors, investment professionals and start-up organizations involved in the next wave of technology and service innovation.

One of the speakers on the first full day of the conference will be Julie England, vice president of Texas Instruments, which addressed the MTBC 4th Friday RFID Luncheon in October. Dean Frew, president of Xterprise and an MTBC member, will be a co-presenter of a program on RFID implementation.

“The primary goal of our (RFID) SIG is to promote the Metroplex as a major source for the development of the RFID industry,” said George Brody, CTO of GlobeRanger and a tri-chair of the RFID SIG for MTBC. “This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the local industry to RFID professionals from literally around the world.”

In addition to sponsoring the reception and workshop, MTBC will be exhibiting in the tradeshow that runs concurrently with the conference. Most of the RFID SIG member companies will be participating in the show that expects to attract more than 400 total exhibitors.

Each MTBC member exhibiting in the trade show will be identified with the MTBC logo in the conference program, special signage at the show, and additional recognition at the reception.

“The primary purpose of MTBC's participation in this conference is to showcase our members and the growing RFID industry in North Texas,” said Paul Bendel, senior vice president of the MTBC. “With approximately 100 companies in the Metroplex actively engaged in RFID, we want the rest of the country to know how important DFW is to the RFID industry.”

The RFID World 2005 Conference & Exhibition is the only event in North America where industry leaders gather to discuss comprehensive information about RFID technology, applications and solutions – from the leading suppliers of tags, readers, software and integrated solutions.
