Doing Business In China Has Its Opportunities, Obstacles, SyChip President Says

U.S. companies considering expanding operations in China are presented a great opportunity as long as company executives understand the obstacles of doing business there and the ways to overcome them, according to George Barber, president of SyChip. Speaking at the MTBC's CEO Forum at Samsung on Aug. 26, Barber said China is experiencing tremendous economic growth fueled in part by a strong emphasis on education and a government that tends to promote local success.

Titans Celebrates Five Years Hollywood-Style

Fifty North Texas companies were honored at the 5th Annual Tech Titans / Titan Fast 50 Awards Gala for their revenue growth over five years (2000 to 2004) as well as percentage revenue growth over one year (2003-2004).
Under the theme "Hooray for Hollywood," the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC) held its 5th Annual Tech Titans / Titan Fast 50 Awards gala before its biggest crowd ever Aug. 19 at the Renaissance Hotel and Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson.

"The 5th Annual Tech Titans Gala brought the technology community out to the red carpet for a grand night of celebration to honor their incredible accomplishments for North Texas this year," said Debbie Mrazek, president of The Sales Company and co-chair of the Tech Titans steering committee. "Tech Titans began as an event to honor the best of the best in technology and today is a highlight for an industry that makes up billions of dollars of revenue for Texas."

The event was attended by more than 800 high-tech company executives, employees and industry VIPs and featured the presentation of nine Tech Titans awards, including the debut of two new award categories.

Texas Instruments, Inc. received the inaugural Hall of Fame Award for its vast and notable contributions to the North Texas community throughout its 75-year history.
