MTBC Celebrates Excellence With 2006 Tech Titans Awards
“Brainy the Brainiac,” the animated character that has become a brand for the Metroplex Technology Business Council, opened the festivities for what turned out to be one of the most remembered galas at the 6th Annual Tech Titans / Titan Fast 50 Awards Gala on Aug. 18 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. “Brainy” entertained more than 700 people in the opening sequence for the ceremonies which recognized the best and the brightest of the North Texas technology industry.
High-tech company executives, employees and industry VIPs from some of the most prestigious firms in North Texas attended the gala that featured the presentation of nine Tech Titans awards, including the debut of two new award categories and the Tech Titan of the Future – High School Pilot Program.
David Johnson of KRLD was the emcee for the gala which used a dinner/awards presentation format for the first time in the six-year history of the program. Rusty Cone, chairman of the board of the MTBC and president of Alliance Systems, presented some of the awards along with representatives of the sponsoring companies.
"The outstanding success of Tech Titans lies in its ability to be a true reflection of the North Texas technology community: its people, vision and accomplishments,” said Anu Venkitaraman, managing partner of ReThink Marketing and co-chair of this year’s gala.
“The future of our community depends equally on embracing new technology and applications, as well as, developing talent to support these disciplines - Tech Titans is proud to recognize and honor forerunners in these areas."
The MTBC wishes to thank the sponsors for making the 6th Annual Tech Titan Awards successful. A special thanks goes to title sponsor and Fast 50 sponsor Deloitte & Touche, LLP and to title sponsor, the University of Texas at Dallas. Awards sponsors included PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Texas Instruments, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Billmatrix, KPMG and AT&T.
“This program like so many others that we produce each year simply could not be held were it not for the sponsors. MTBC takes this opportunity to thank all of the Tech Titan sponsors for making this year’s gala a tremendous success,” said Bill Sproull, president/CEO of MTBC.
