The MTBC's RFID Special Interest Group (SIG) has announced that it has created a new brand name: “Dallas: The RFID Hub.” Using this theme and a specially-designed logo, the MTBC will promote the region as a hotbed of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology, innovation and implementation. The announcement was made at a Nov. 10 dinner event, the Dallas RFID Hub Kickoff Celebration, at The Richardson Hotel. More than 200 business executives and technology professionals interested in RFID, including many of the region's top RFID companies, attended, demonstrating their support and participation.
Tech Titan Of The Future Scholarship Check Presented To Richland College Award To Help Stimulate Engineering Education In North Texas Bill Sproull, president and CEO of the Metroplex Technology Business Council was welcomed with open arms when he recently visited an engineering class at Richland College. Of course, he did come with money – a check for $5,000 in scholarships – which he presented to Richland College President Steve Mittelstet, before an audience of faculty members and a class of some 20 students. The money represents the financial portion of the Tech Titan of the Future Award given to the Articulated AS (Associate in Sciences) degree program in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering at Richland.
