Tech Companies Continue to Expand

As the value of your home, your company's stock prices, your investment portfolio, and your blood pressure vary, it's hard to be optimistic in a fluctuating world. But, with the technology business still growing, maybe this will help relax your purse strings a little.
In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in the past two months, there have been some newsworthy strides the technology industry has made. The following are just a few of these exciting innovators. For more information, click on the links provided:
- Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM) has selected Irving, Texas as its U.S. headquarters. RIM is expected to employ over 1,000 people in the region over the next several years, including roles in research and development, technical support, business operations and administration.
- Rockwell Collins Inc. announced plans to expand their operations in Texas. The company will lease 90,000 square feet of space to accommodate growth at its facility in Richardson, create 334 new, high-paying jobs and invest more than $6.7 million in machinery and equipment for the new building.
- Adea Solutions, Inc., a global provider of business process and technology consulting services, today announced it will take over 67,000 square feet of space at the One Panorama Center in Irving. The company will consolidate its corporate headquarters and development labs which are currently in separate buildings near the Galleria Mall in Dallas. Currently, the company occupies approximately 40,000 square feet combined in the two existing locations. The move will allow Adea Solutions to increase development capacity and provide room for additional employees.
- Needing a larger location to house its growing business, ND SatCom Inc. has relocated its Americas headquarters to Plano from Richardson.
ND SatCom Inc. is part of the German satellite products and communications networks supplier ND SatCom GmbH.
With 25 employees, the Plano headquarters could have 50 workers on board by 2008, according to Chris Morris, president and CEO of ND SatCom Inc.
These types of expansions brings jobs into our area, producing happy income producing spenders, both B2B and B2C can benefit! So keep your blood pressure and your costs down because things are looking profitable.
