This issue home | Past issues | MTBC home The 2008 MTBC Tech Titans winners were announced at the 8th Annual Tech Titans Awards Gala on Friday, September 26 at the Marriott Dallas Plano at Legacy Town Center. This flagship event attracted over 700 business and community leaders from DFW’s high-tech industry and featured 10 prestigious awards for accomplishments in the field of high technology, research and education. The following individuals and organizations were honored: Corporate CEO Award Winner: Patrick Brandt, former President and CEO, Skywire Software Emerging Company CEO Award Winner: Greg Smith, President and CEO, Accudata Technologies Corporate Horizon Award Winner: Samsung Telecommunications America Emerging Company Horizon Award Winner: RipCode, Inc. Technology Innovators Award Winner: Dr. Bill Krenik, Jeff Bellay and the LoCosto Development Team, Texas Instruments Technology Adopter Award Winner: American Airlines Technology Advocate Award Winner: The Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UT Dallas Community Hero Award Winners: Shaunna Black, Vice President and Manager of Worldwide Facilities, Texas Instruments & Kevin Lofgren, Founder and CEO, Farstar AeA Texas Legends Award Winner: Pike Powers, Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. Tech Titans Of The Future Recognizes educational programs designed to address the gap in the student pipeline in technology disciplines and/or educational programs between technology businesses and educational institutions whose purpose is to provide qualified graduates to the technology industry. Winner (University Level): Richland Collegiate High School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering, Richland College Winner (High School Level): Dr. Rebecca McGowan Jensen, Dallas Independent School District’s School for the Talented and Gifted. Special thanks go out to the event sponsors, volunteers and staff who made this event such a huge success. Thanks to their efforts and generosity, over $25,000 was raised during the live and silent auctions and over $30,000 was awarded to the Tech Titans of the Future winners and nominees. This event strives to award the stellar accomplishments, groundbreaking research and cutting edge technology that we have grown to expect here in the area and it is only through the support of our friends and sponsors that this continues to be possible.
