The Metroplex Technology Business Council is proud to host the 2009 Tech Titans Awards Gala on August 28, 2009 at the Renaissance Hotel Richardson. In its ninth year, Tech Titans has become the area’s most prestigious award for excellence in technology. The theme this year is “If you want a BETTER TOMORROW, someone must be BRILLIANT TODAY. Awards are presented for personal and corporate leadership in different categories allowing recognition for innovation, education, creation, adaptation and application of technology to better our business and community lives. Raytheon TechQuest Wraps Up Raytheon technologists and business development executives came away from TechQuest arranged meetings on May 8 deeply impressed with the quality of ideas that had been presented by 11 pre-selected innovators. Raytheon was interested in systems for the detection, monitoring and tracking of small UAVs, semi-submersibles, explosive materials and vehicles, but the company chose to not specifically identify any specific technologies involved so as not to influence applicants. MTBC LinkedIn Group Buzzes The MTBC would like to commemorate those members who have signed-up, joined, and participated in its LinkedIn Group. Granted, the MTBC has decided to award exposure for the most commented discussion posting and its author. For the month of May, the discussion, “March of Technologies,” by Mr. Barry Stevens has garnered the most comments.
The 3rd annual MTBC Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 28, restructured in light of the current economy, attracted a record number of attendees. The past few years the tournament has averaged between 85 and 100 golfers, but this year’s outing brought 126 golfers out to the Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson! The weather was absolutely perfect for an afternoon of golf – 85 degrees and sunny! Tech Link is a monthly publication of the Metroplex Technology Business Council Communications Department. |
