MTBC Establishes Charitable Fund for Scholarship Donations

The Metroplex Technology Business Council has established a 501c3 donor advised fund at Communities Foundation of Texas to allow MTBC companies to make tax-deductible donations to the MTBC in support of the Tech Titans Scholarship Fund, the MTBC LEGO Education Mindstorm Project and future MTBC charitable initiatives.

What is Communities Foundation of Texas?
Communities Foundation of Texas has been a partner with donors for raising the quality of life in our community for more than 50 years. CFT provides effective ways to make meaningful charitable contributions while realizing significant tax advantages. When a donor makes a gift to CFT, a charitable deduction can be claimed.

A community foundation, as the name implies, is a public charity created as a vehicle for charitable giving. The defining characteristic of a community foundation is that it represents the donors' charitable interests and adds value through its wealth of community knowledge, along with the leadership of its board of trustees and the services of a professional staff.

Communities Foundation of Texas is now one of the nation's largest community foundations, in terms of total assets, gifts received and grants awarded.

2009 Tech Titans Gala Scholarships
MTBC companies may make a charitable donation for distribution to this year’s recipients of the Tech Titans of the Future University or High School Level Awards at the Tech Titans Gala on August 28th.  Checks should be made payable to Metroplex Technology Business Council Charitable Fund and mailed by August 21st to Communities Foundation of Texas, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane, Dallas, TX 75225.
